Service and Parts Manager (Part-Time)

On behalf of our client, a growing local Engineering business supplying compressed air and pneumatic solutions McKinty Associates are seeking to recruit a Service and Parts Manager to join their team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual, ideally with an engineering background. This role is central to ensuring the smooth coordination of field operations, efficient management of parts and inventory, and delivery of excellent customer service.
You will act as a key link between customers, engineers, and suppliers supporting daily operations through effective scheduling, accurate order processing, and strong administrative control.
Key Duties:
Scheduling & Coordination
1. Plan and schedule installations, service visits, and repairs
2. Allocate jobs to engineers based on availability, location, and skillset
3. Ensure efficient use of resources and timely job completion
Customer Service
4. Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries
5. Log service requests, breakdowns, and warranty issues accurately
6. Keep customers informed of appointments, delays, and progress
7. Handle queries professionally, escalating where necessary
Spares & Parts Administration
8. Process orders for spare parts and components
9. Liaise with suppliers regarding availability and lead times
10. Track parts required for upcoming jobs
11. Maintain accurate inventory and stock records
12. Assist with deliveries
Data & System Management
13. Maintain internal systems with accurate, up-to-date information
14. Raise job sheets, completion records, and invoices
Eligibility criteria:
15. Strong organisational and time management skills
16. Excellent written and verbal communication
17. Good IT skills (Microsoft Office; CRM or scheduling systems)
18. Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
19. High attention to detail and accuracy
20. Experience in service, logistics, or construction environments
21. Experience scheduling engineers or field-based teams
22. Knowledge of compressed air and pneumatic solutions or similar products
23. Experience with stock or parts management
