Job title: Personal Assistant
Location: Lampeter
Hours of work: 4.5 hours per week
Rate of pay: £14.25 per hour
We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support our son with his sport and social activities. He is a lively 6-year-old who faces daily challenges. No two days will be the same.
Responsibilities
* Support our son with sport and social activities, helping him participate and engaging him in age-appropriate activities.
* Assist with some personal care and continence issues as required.
* Help with routines and supervision during after-school hours in term time and arrange shifts mutually for school holidays.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience dealing with children with autism, speech and language difficulties and PDA (pathological demand avoidance).
* Excellent communication skills and patience; ability to work calmly and flexibly with a child who has diverse needs.
* Confident swimmer, as you will be required to support him during swimming activities.

* Two satisfactory references may be requested. There is a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
* Wages are paid in arrears on a 4-weekly basis once a valid National Insurance number is provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK; document checks will be conducted prior to commencement.
* You will receive annual leave entitlement and other statutory entitlements as set out in your contract. A Personal Assistants Handbook will be issued on commencement.
* You may be required to undertake mandatory training; the cost will be met through direct payments. Failure to attend mandatory training may affect employment offers.
* Direct Payments Support Service, Ceredigion County Council, is advertising this post on behalf of an individual employer. You will be an employee of the Direct Payment Recipient and not of Ceredigion County Council.
