Electrical Quality Engineer
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £60-75k + package
This multi-disciplinary contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Engineer to monitor the performance of Inspection and Test activities across multiple power and renewable sites, providing leadership and expertise.
Responsibilities:
* Lead by example in ethics, EHS, cultural sensitivity, diversity, teamwork, quality culture, and behaviors.
* Establish close working relationships with cross-functional departments (Planning, Engineering, Operations, Commissioning, EHS), including supply chain and client stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain Project Quality plans and Inspection and Test plans to ensure project compliance. Continuously monitor and update the quality program.
* Develop project quality programs and provide training to site teams for implementation.
* Conduct project lessons learned workshops with supply chain and project teams to prevent recurrence of issues.
* Implement Walkdown planning and 2-week lookaheads, measuring planned vs. actual performance.
* Complete internal audits to verify implementation of the QMS and the Quality Plan.
* Support and guide the implementation of the Quality & LEAN Construction Policy.
* Monitor KPIs such as planned vs. actual, checklist completion, issues/snags, room readiness, and system/area handover.
* Continuously evaluate and improve the quality program.
* Implement a First of Kind / Benchmark program and monitor installations and progress.
* Proactively identify areas for improvement and create action plans to enhance project performance.
Candidate Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent Electrical trade qualification.
* At least 5 years' experience in Quality management within an Engineering & Construction environment.
* Experience with HV/MV Substations, Transmission, and Distribution is advantageous.
* HV/MV Cable Jointing experience is advantageous.
* Knowledge of relevant industry standards applicable to the scope of work.
* Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
* ISO9001 auditor certification and experience.
* Ability to scope, plan, and execute risk reviews.
