Are you nurturing, energetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We're looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with SEN (Autism) in a welcoming school in the Headingley area.
About the Role
You will be supporting a child who is working at a lower age range, providing help both in and out of the classroom to ensure they feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Your role will involve:
Building a warm, trusting relationship with the child
Supporting learning through play, outdoor activities, and structured games
Providing consistent behaviour support and setting clear, firm boundaries
Helping the child regulate emotions and stay engaged in learning
Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to tailor support

Confident supporting children with Autism and SEN needs
Energetic and active-someone who enjoys being outdoors and learning through play
Has a good sense of humour and can build positive rapport
Skilled in behaviour management and consistent in setting boundaries
Understanding, empathetic, and committed to helping a child thrive
