Deputy Headteacher (Ysgol Bro Hyddgen)
Job description
Welsh Language Skills are essential for this position
The Governing Body are seeking to appoint an ambitious, dynamic and visionary Deputy Headteacher to join this all-age school in Montgomeryshire, in northwest Powys. Ysgol Bro Hyddgen is in the town of Machynlleth, in a beautiful rural area of Mid Wales.
Estyn, in the core inspection report, December 2024, states that 'positive working relationships between pupils and teachers at Ysgol Bro Hyddgen are a notable strength. As a result, most pupils are very well behaved and the respect they show to staff is commendable'. The school is a caring and family community.
Being part of the Ysgol Bro Hyddgen team means working in a community atmosphere where honesty and transparency are core principles. Being loyal to the team is key to ensuring that we work together effectively to achieve the best together. We strongly
believe that the participation of all members of our community is at the core of ensuring a happy and prosperous school and we feel responsibility and pride towards our community on all occasions.
This is a unique opportunity for an individual, who wants to develop and cultivate a broad experience of leadership in a school in transition. The school has already embarked on its journey along the Welsh language continuum and there are plans by the Local Authority to ensure that there is a brand-new building, on one site, soon. There is therefore an opportunity to promote bilingual excellence and enrich the lives
of our pupils and community. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the school's future as it embarks on its journey along the Welsh language continuum, promoting bilingual excellence and enriching the lives of our students and community. If you are passionate about innovative education, committed to nurturing a thriving Welsh-speaking environment, and eager to inspire the next generation of confident, bilingual learners, we would love to hear from you.
