Pathology Coordinator The Duchy Hospital 37.5 Hours & 12 Months Fixed Term Salary: Up to £26,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Pathology Coordinator to join their team of staff in the Pathology department. This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include: Oversee the day-to-day coordination of pathology services, ensuring timely and accurate processing of diagnostic tests. Liaise with internal departments and external laboratories to manage test requests, collections, and result reporting. Ensure all specimens are correctly labelled, packaged, and transported in accordance with national guidelines. Act as the first point of contact for pathology-related queries from clinical staff, consultants, and laboratory providers. Ensure results are communicated promptly to the appropriate clinical teams, escalating abnormal or urgent results as necessary. Maintain strong working relationships with pathology service providers to support smooth and responsive operations. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Previous experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or diagnostic services environment. Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail. Effective communication skills and ability to liaise with clinical and non-clinical colleagues. Basic understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic processes. Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
