An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Desktop Engineer to support one of our client's, based on their site in Ipswich. The successful candidate must be well presented, a strong communicator with an excellent knowledge of End User Workplace equipment including Desktops, laptops, Printers, and mobile devices (both smart phones and tablets).
This is a full-time permanent position working 37.5-hours per week, Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:15.
The successful candidate must be willing to undergo the client's security clearance process.
As a Senior Desktop Engineer you will be:
1. Fully site-based
2. Able to deal directly with clients in a friendly and highly confident manner
3. Troubleshooting known and unknown hardware / software issues related to desktop, laptops, workstations, peripherals, and associated accessories
4. Experienced with VIP support and engagement
5. Troubleshooting known and unknown software issues related to Windows platforms
6. Building and deploying PCs, patch network points, troubleshooting printer problems, supporting standard software packages, and other general “IT” tasks
7. Providing ‘Hands and Eyes’ support to other teams
8. Processing documentation and knowledge base article management
9. Using the onsite call management system to update calls and close calls to specific SLAs
10. Perform stock control & asset management – ensuring the desktops and laptops are correctly added to the database and the status updated when applicable
What we're looking for:
11. Knowledge of current and past Microsoft windows operating systems
12. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Intune etc)
13. Experience in Windows imaging techniques (Network & Local)
14. Microsoft Active Directory & Azure Active Directory knowledge
15. Remote desktop support tools
16. Desktop/printer configurations
17. Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
18. Must be able to work independently and part of a team.
19. Experience and technical knowledge of IT, PC’s / peripherals, and their architecture
20. Break fix, IMACs, Incidents, Projects
21. Experience with Ticket Management
22. Comfortable with liaising and working alongside 3rd Parties.
23. Display flexibility and the ability to manage your day effectively
Desirable skills / qualifications:
24. ITIL Foundation
25. 3 – 4 years experience supporting Windows environment
26. Windows certification
