The role:
We are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter / Welder Fabricator to join our maintenance team based in Hitchin.
Key Responsibilities:
* Repair and maintain mobile plant and equipment
* Complete engine servicing and repair on mobile plant engines
* Be able to carry out simple fabrications to be able to repair mobile plant and equipment
* Order and fit correct spare parts for mobile plant and equipment
* Complete required paperwork accurately for traceability and auditing
* Manage assigned workload to ensure that mobile plant and equipment is available when required
* Welder and fabrication
* Maintain crushers, bailers and conveyor systems
* Carry out service inspections
* Service and repair experience on the following equipment: 360 degree excavators and grabs, shovel, FLT’s, Class 1 & 3 tractor and trailer units and teleporters.
* Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
* Work to a maintenance schedule, recording all tasks complete.
* Additional ad‑hoc duties when and where required.
The ideal candidate:
* Previous experience in recycling machinery maintenance
* Confident in dealing with a wide variety of machinery
* Enjoys working outdoors in a busy environment
* Reliable with a strong work ethic and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Health and Safety conscious
* Diesel and gas engine experience
* Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience
* HGV and construction experience
* Good time management
* Good organisation skills
