A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Community Mental Health Nurse to join the developing Urgent/Emergency Care Mental Health Service in the stunning rural location of Lochaber. This role offers the chance to work creatively and compassionately under the guidance of the Urgent/Emergency Care Lead, providing high-quality support to individuals presenting in mental health crisis to A&E, Police colleagues, and GPs within the locality. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in mental health assessment and treatment facilitation, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. A strong understanding of risk assessment and the ability to formulate and deliver care plans are essential.
Responsibilities
* Be part of a responsive, person-centred service, delivering high-quality urgent and emergency mental health care.
* Build strong working relationships with partner agencies including Police Scotland, A&E departments, and local GPs to support safe discharge planning.
* Contribute to training delivery for partner agencies as opportunities arise.
* Support the wider multidisciplinary team and the Urgent Care Practitioner, working collaboratively to ensure safe and effective care within the community.
* Operate under guidance of the Urgent/Emergency Care Lead with a focus on high-quality care in crisis situations.
Qualifications and skills
* Experience as a Community Mental Health Nurse or equivalent, with strong mental health assessment and treatment facilitation skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
* Strong understanding of risk assessment and capability to formulate and deliver care plans.
