Consultant Radionuclide Radiologist The closing date is 28 June 2026
We are looking to appoint a full‑time (10 PA) Consultant Radionuclide Radiologist to the Dermatology department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those with well‑established careers. Any candidate who is unable to work full‑time for personal reasons will be eligible to be considered for the post; if appointed, the job content will be discussed on an individual basis with the Trust and consultant colleagues.
Main duties of the job The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of clinical oversight, ARSAC and reporting services to Nuclear Medicine and PET for STH, CRH, SCH and external sites including the University of Sheffield owned PET‑MR and the PET‑CT service run by Alliance Medical Ltd at the Sheffield PET Centre.
In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to the general radiology workload at STH. The successful candidate will work flexibly and cooperatively with other members of the team to provide a high‑quality, comprehensive service within this teaching hospital environment. The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contract.

Person Specification Qualifications
Full registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC).
Name on the specialist register for radiology specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview. If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
FRCR or equivalent.
MD or PhD or equivalent.
Clinical experience
Ability to work as an independent practitioner having completed a minimum of 5 years training in clinical radiology.
Completion of subspecialty training in radionuclide imaging and PET as required for application to ARSAC for licensing for a wide range of diagnostic NM and PET.
Independent undertaking of general CT and ultrasound work to support the workload of the department and on call.
Non‑FDG PET serials and Neuro PET experience.
Research
Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.
Publications in peer reviewed journals.
Teaching and training
Experience teaching medical students and resident doctors.
Continuous Professional Development
Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months.
Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio.
Management and Administration
Evidence of understanding of the systems and structures of NHS Management.
Clinical governance and audit
Experience in performing clinical audit.
Completion and publication of a substantive audit project or service improvement project.
Personal attributes
Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values.
Demonstrates skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking the English language that enables effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues as set out in the GMC Good Medical Practice (2013).
