We are looking for someone to join our supported living team in Northallerton on a part-time, permanent basis, 20 hours per week. Shifts are Monday to Friday and may include weekends and bank holidays.
About our Service
We support three active gentlemen aged 60-68 who have learning disabilities and are great friends. They live independent, fun, and active lifestyles. The home is busy, with activities like days out, train spotting, socialising, and seeing friends.
What does a Support Worker do?
* Supporting people to live independently – managing budgets, paying bills, housework, organising appointments, and cooking healthy meals.
* Excellent communication skills and relationship building – supporting individuals to understand the world and promoting positive relationships.
* Community & Social Inclusion – helping individuals access and participate in local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
* Personal care – assisting with daily routines, medication, bathing, showering, and bathroom use. Not all roles involve high levels of personal care.
All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route. Mencap is a licensed sponsor but cannot offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK.
