East Sussex County Council is seeking a Senior Trading Standards Officer to join our ambitious Trading Standards team, working alongside a team of dedicated professional colleagues to ensure the highest standards of trading and ensuring we provide the highest level of consumer protection possible.
As a Trading Standards Officer you will be reporting to a Senior Trading Standards Officer, where you will play a key role in delivering Trading Standards services across East Sussex County Council. You will have responsibility for your own caseload, work. You will be joining a team of Trading Standards Officers who are passionate about providing a safe and fair trading environment in East Sussex. The successful applicant will take the lead role for a discreet area of Trading Standards law and will be required to represent the authority at a regional and national level.
You will be responsible for the enforcement of the full range of Trading Standards legislation, including responding to complaints and enquiries, undertaking proactive work, sampling of goods and services, inspecting businesses, providing business advice, and investigating alleged offences.

* Can demonstrate a problem solving and innovative approach to work.
To be considered for this position you must hold a professional qualification in Trading Standards Level 6 (DCATS/DCA/DTS/CPCF or equivalent) and have experience in the role.
