Specialist Teacher Role Requirements
* Experience: 2+ years of post‑NQT teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma‑informed way
* Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
* Approach: Understanding of how to work in a child‑centred, holistic way; you will have the ingenuity and creativity to make the curriculum work in an individual, student‑centred way.
* Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
* Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online jobs
* Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.
The Specialist Teacher Role And Responsibilities
* Develop strong relationships with children and young people who have a range of needs and who have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings.
* Provide in person, online/remote, and hybrid support to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs.
* Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 – KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma‑informed tutoring and mentoring tailored to the young person’s needs, EHCP, and risk assessment.
* Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress.

* This position involves engaging with us as a self‑employer tutor/teacher.
* We provide guidance/signposting on accessing resources to register as self‑employed if you are not registered already.
* This is not a PAYE position.
