We are looking for a highly experienced and detail‑oriented Senior Network Designer to join the team in Rome, Italy; Madrid, Spain; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Bristol, UK; London, UK or Hamburg, Germany.
In this hybrid role, you will leverage your hands‑on experience in implementing and optimizing routing across organizations to enhance network performance.
Position responsibilities
* Design and implement scalable, high‑performance WAN and LAN solutions.
* Architect network systems for large complex organization infrastructures with focus on reliability and security.
* Plan, design, and deploy MPLS networks and systems that incorporate advanced QoS strategies and traffic‑shaping mechanisms.
* Implement and manage routing and switching technologies, particularly OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and BGP.
* Perform troubleshooting and optimization of WAN routing configurations across multiple locations.
* Apply relevant encryption standards for securing data traffic across wide area networks.
* Work with internal teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including implementing VPNs and SSL/TLS encryption protocols.
* Collaborate with IT security, tech fellows, and stakeholders to align network architecture with business requirements.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration guides, and capacity‑planning documents.
* Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior designers.
* Provide expert troubleshooting of network‑related issues related to LAN, WAN and DMZ networks.
* Assist in incident resolution, root‑cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Manage the ticket queue for L2 and L3 break/fix tickets to improve service restoration metrics and the GSEP design‑change request queue.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
* 10+ years of experience with large‑area network (LAN), wide‑area network (WAN), and DMZ.
* 10+ years of experience with quality of service (QoS), routing and switching protocols.
* 10+ years of experience designing and implementing large‑scale network architectures, including complex routing and switching configurations.
* 5+ years of experience with network security, and practical experience implementing and managing encryption standards such as IPSec, SSL, and GETVPN.
* 5+ years of experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, NetFlow).
* 5+ years of experience with incident management.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
* CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or equivalent certifications.
* Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Ansible).
* Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to address complex network issues quickly and efficiently.
* Excellent communication skills and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
Work Authorization
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Italy, Spain, Netherlands, UK and Germany. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the respective country. Boeing will not attempt to obtain immigration or labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
