Children’s Team - Shapes Transition Service and Lawford Lodge Transition Respite Home
45 hours per week over 4 days - 3 x 12.5 hour shifts plus a 7.5 hour shift. Working every other weekend.
To ensure positive outcomes and the continual safety, health, and well-being of the children, young people, and young adults using Children’s Services, provide domiciliary support to those accessing Shapes and Lawford Lodge transition respite home.
*Due to the current demands on the service, we require a FEMALE Lead Support*
Take responsibility for a child/young person within the home and/or in the community.
Adhere to the highest standards of Safeguarding Procedures, including completing body map forms as required.
Act as a role model for staff.
Manage and direct staff in line with Diverse Abilities’ working values.
Attend and participate in staff meetings and discussions, playing an active role as part of the staff team.
Ensure up-to-date Care Plans are maintained on Nourish for the children/young adults supported.
Follow medication regimes and be capable of intervening with medical interventions (e.g., administering rescue medications for epilepsy).
Take responsibility for dispensing and administering medications to children and young adults, including tablets, liquids, PEG feeding, and nebulisers.
Lead emergency interventions for young people as necessary.
Support children and young adults in fulfilling their social and emotional needs through play and activities.
Advocate for children and young adults who cannot articulate their views, promoting their known preferences.
Participate in the On Call System.
Essential skills required:
* Full UK Manual driving licence (held for at least 2 years) and vehicle insurance for business use.
* Diploma Level 3 or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
* Experience of leading a team in a health and social setting.
