This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Payroll Team Leader, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to lead a team of Payroll Co-ordinators and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for a large blue-collar workforce. Your work will directly contribute to employee wellbeing, industrial harmony, and operational efficiency.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
1. Leading and supporting the Payroll Co-ordinators, managing workload distribution and acting as an escalation point.
2. Coordinating payroll activities using Kronos Time and Attendance system in line with approved procedures.
3. Acting as the MEH focal point for all on-site payroll matters for blue-collar personnel up to Superintendent level.
4. Resolving pay queries efficiently to support positive industrial relations and employee engagement.
5. Collaborating with HR and IR teams to ensure compliance with operative agreements and payroll processes.
This is a permanent role, based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Essential experience of the Payroll Team Leader:
6. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or demonstrable competency through assessment/interview.
7. Strong IT skills across the full Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and data analysis.
8. Experience working in a payroll department managing multiple payrolls and pay types.
Qualifications for the Payroll Team Leader:
9. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
