About the Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for a capable legal administrator or paralegal to join a busy family law department within a well-respected firm. The role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting solicitors and clients through sensitive and often complex legal matters. At its core, this position exists to deliver a high-quality, accurate, and timely service-ensuring that clients feel supported and that internal operations run smoothly.
Responsibilities
1. Provide secretarial, administrative, and client support within the family law department
2. Use the case management system to produce legal documents and correspondence
3. Assist with office administration and support the Practice Manager
4. Offer holiday cover and cross-departmental support when needed
5. Handle client interactions via phone, email, and in person
6. Follow internal procedures to maintain workflow and service standards
About You
You're someone who brings a positive, enthusiastic attitude to the workplace and builds strong rapport with clients and colleagues alike. With excellent attention to detail and solid typing skills, you're confident handling a varied workload and prioritising tasks under pressure.
You're keen to learn new procedures, take ownership of your responsibilities, and contribute to the overall performance of the office. Whether you come from a legal background or have transferable skills from another sector, you approach your work with professionalism, warmth, and a willingness to grow.
Legal secretarial experience, ideally within family law would be a distinct advantage, as would familiarity with Sheriff Court and Court of Session procedures. You'll be a key part of the team, helping maintain the firm's reputation for professionalism and care.
