The Role: Functional Skills Teacher, Accrington
As a Functional Skills Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons in English and Maths to students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. Your role will be crucial in helping our young people gain essential qualifications that will support their future careers and lives. .
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching: Delivering high-quality lessons in Functional Skills English and Maths.
Assessment & Marking: Dedicating 2-3 days per month to marking student work and providing constructive feedback.
Curriculum Development: Adapting the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Pastoral Support: Providing one-on-one support and encouragement to students to help them succeed.

Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification is essential.
Experience teaching Functional Skills English and Maths, or similar qualifications.

A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude.
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs (e.g., SEN/SEMH) is highly desirable.
