Job Purpose:
The Maths KS4 Leader will be responsible for leading and managing the Key Stage 4 Mathematics curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, and supporting the academic progress of students. The role involves strategic planning, curriculum development, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Principal Responsibilities
Curriculum Leadership:
* Develop and implement the KS4 Mathematics curriculum in line with national standards.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and make necessary adjustments.
* Ensure the curriculum is engaging, challenging, and accessible to all students.
Teaching and Learning:
* Lead by example in delivering high-quality Mathematics lessons.
* Support and mentor KS4 Mathematics teachers to improve teaching practices.
* Utilise data to track student progress and implement interventions where necessary.
Student Achievement:
* Set high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
* Analyse assessment data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Develop strategies to support students in achieving their full potential.
Professional Development:
* Organise and lead professional development sessions for the Mathematics department.
* Stay updated with the latest educational research and best practices in Mathematics teaching.
* Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
Communication and Collaboration:
* Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders about student progress and departmental initiatives.
* Collaborate with other departments to support cross-curricular learning.
This role is open to start from September 2025 or January 2026.
