We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious, and motivated radiographer to join our highly skilled and friendly team at Barts Health NHS Trust.
This band 6 radiographer position is based at The Royal London Hospital, located in the vibrant east end of London. The hospital is home to the London Air Ambulance, a leading trauma and stroke centre, and houses one of the UK’s largest children’s hospitals. Mile End Hospital is undergoing transformation into a community diagnostic and early diagnosis centre.
The imaging departments at both hospitals are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offer a varied rotation across different modalities and specialties. The role involves participation in the out-of-hours system, ensuring shifts do not interfere with core working hours.
The post-holder will work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the safe and effective operation of the imaging department. Responsibilities include performing a wide range of high-standard X-ray examinations. The rotation includes approximately 60% in CT, with the remainder in ED, general X-ray, outpatient X-ray, paediatric X-ray, fluoroscopy, theatres, dental imaging, and potential training in IR and MRI.
The role supports a 24/7, 365-day service, involving 12-hour shifts and seven-day working. The post-holder will supervise rotational Band 6 and Band 5 radiographers, assistant practitioners, imaging assistants, students, and visitors. Ensuring patient flow and delivering high-quality patient care and experience are key responsibilities. The post-holder must demonstrate professionalism and adhere to HCPC standards, fostering positive interpersonal relationships based on trust, mutual respect, and open communication.
Barts Health NHS Trust is one of the largest in the country and is committed to continuous improvement, aiming for excellence and innovation in patient care. We are dedicated to providing safe, harm-free care and creating an outstanding working environment aligned with our WeCare values, promoting inclusion and diversity.
