Empowering Learning are currently recruiting Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to work across our partner schools on the Wirral. We work with dozens of schools in the area, offering both short-term and long-term opportunities supporting pupils with SEND and behavioural needs. These roles are ideal for individuals from backgrounds such as sports coaching, youth work, the police, or the prison service, who are confident managing behaviour, building trust, and creating calm, structured learning environments. Your role will include: Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs (including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural difficulties). Using positive behaviour strategies to help pupils engage in learning. Assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons and personalised support plans. Helping pupils develop confidence, teamwork, and resilience. What we're looking for: A background in coaching, mentoring, or support work (sport, youth, or community). Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a calm, professional way. Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
