Location: Kirkham, Lancashire | Salary: From £33,401 per year + £85 per sleep-in Hours: Full-time, 42 hours per week + sleep-in shifts

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our young people with their emotional, social and practical needs, while promoting a safe, caring and stimulating environment. You'll work as part of a dedicated team to provide consistent care, positive role modelling, and tailored support, helping our young people to develop skills, build resilience and reach their potential.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our young people at all times
* Building positive, trusting relationships and acting as a consistent role model
* Supporting daily routines, personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
* Helping young people engage in education, hobbies, appointments and family contact
* Using positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies
* Acting as a key worker and contributing to care plans, reports and reviews
* Maintaining accurate records and effective shift handovers
* Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals
* Promoting a safe, nurturing and structured environment in line with: Children's Homes Regulations & Quality Standard, The Children's Act, Ofsted Framework

Working pattern: Full-time (42 hours per week), including at least one sleep-in shift per week.

Example pattern: Week 1 – Tue, Thu, Fri / Week 2 – Mon, Sat, Sun.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking people who are:

* Patient, positive, reliable, flexible, motivational and caring
* Able to build relationships and support young people with complex needs
* Resilient, reflective and committed to ongoing development
* Comfortable working shifts, weekends and sleep-ins
* Able to drive and hold a clean driving licence

Qualifications and Experience:

* Minimum Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Children & Young People's Services (or willingness to work towards this during employment)
* Minimum 2 years' experience supporting young people, ideally those with additional or complex needs
* Good knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation
* Strong communication, recording and teamwork skills
