Position Summary
This role is part of the Instrument, Control, and Electrical (ICE) team, supporting Production, Mechanical, and Project teams at the LNG Terminal. The position focuses on designing, reviewing, and overseeing instrumentation and control systems for new or modified equipment, executing minor engineering projects, and ensuring the technical integrity of the terminal from an I&C perspective.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for instrumentation issues affecting Production and Maintenance teams.
* Collaborate with internal teams to optimize instrument reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and enhance system performance.
* Coordinate with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance in areas such as gas pipeline networks, power grids, instrumentation, and metering systems.
* Maintain and update procedures for instruments, PLCs, Fire & Gas systems, ESD, metering, CCTV, and security systems.
* Conduct root cause analyses for instrumentation failures and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
* Lead Management of Change (MOC) projects to improve instrumentation reliability from design through commissioning.
* Ensure proper inspection, testing, and certification of electrical and instrumentation equipment, especially for use in hazardous areas.
* Support major maintenance activities and equipment turnarounds.
* Manage the functional safety lifecycle of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) in accordance with industry standards.
* Contribute to expansion projects by ensuring integration with existing systems and maintaining facility integrity.
* Participate in emergency response roles as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related field.
* Professional accreditation or membership in engineering bodies is advantageous.
* At least 8 years of hands-on experience in instrumentation and control within oil & gas or petrochemical environments.
* Strong knowledge of local regulations and international engineering standards for electrical and instrumentation systems.
* Experience with IEC 61511 functional safety standards; certification as a Functional Safety Engineer is a plus.
* Skilled in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex electrical and I&C systems.
* Proficient in PLC programming and debugging, with experience in Siemens PLCs being an advantage.
* Currently based in Singapore
