Estates & Facilities Assistant
Temporary – 3 months | Start ASAPLocation: Kempston, BedfordshireContract: Temporary (Full-time), 37hrs
Looking for a hands-on, varied temp role where no two days are the same?
We’re recruiting an Estates & Facilities Assistant to support a busy estates and facilities team for an initial 3-month temporary assignment, starting immediately. This is a practical, active role suited to someone who enjoys being on the move, supporting multiple sites, and keeping environments safe, compliant, and well presented.
What you’ll be doing
This role provides essential day-to-day support across estates, facilities, and stores functions, including:
* Carrying out routine compliance checks (e.g. water temperature, alarms, equipment checks)
* Supporting general site maintenance and upkeep across multiple locations
* Assisting with grounds maintenance, waste areas, and external presentation
* Helping prepare meeting rooms and event spaces, including moving furniture
* Supporting uniform and equipment movement between sites
* Providing ad-hoc courier and delivery support (driving between locations)
* Assisting Stores with issuing, collecting, and delivering items when required
* Supporting the wider team with practical tasks as needs arise
This is a physically active role, with a mix of indoor and outdoor work, driving, lifting, and hands-on tasks.
What we’re looking for
* Previous experience in facilities, estates, maintenance, logistics, or a similar hands-on role
* A full UK driving licence (essential)
* Comfortable with manual handling and physical work
* A proactive, flexible attitude — happy to turn your hand to different tasks
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Good awareness of health & safety
* Reliable, punctual, and organised
