Salary : Competitive - Dependant on Experience

Working hours: Monday to Friday - 8.00 am to 17.00 pm (40 hours per week)

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

What you'll do:

* Management of the site chemical inventory database.
* Assist scientists in sourcing and purchasing chemicals from preferred suppliers according to specifications, comparing prices and providing lead times.
* Receive, check and register chemicals into the inventory system.
* Ensuring correct labelling of chemicals, including COSHH and reference to chemical specific Risk Assessments.
* Retrieve, dispense and distribute chemicals in a timely manner.
* Assist lab scientists with appropriate disposal of chemicals via relevant service partner channel.
* Carry out regular stock checks and audits of chemicals in the central store and site laboratories.
* Provide monthly safety reports from the inventory database to EHS and chemical duty holder.
* Assist with monthly lab tidies to help identify expired chemicals etc.
* Assist Raw Materials Team with chemical orders for batch manufacturer, advising on current stock levels and co-ordinating with Maidenhead site.
* Use Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for all paperwork
* Observe all safety precautions and is proactive in raising safety concerns
* Complete all required training in a timely manner.

Who you'll be:

* BSc/Msc qualification in relevant scientific subject (e.g Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy) or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in laboratory environment preferred.
* Strong organisational and computer skills
* Ability to understand customer needs and to deliver exceptional customer service to build valuable long-term relationship with customers and clients.
* Ability to understand customer requirements and clear and concise written and spoken communication skills.
* Experience working to SOPs, Risk Assessments and other safety rules and compliance regulations.
* Good team-working behaviors, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to motivate self and work independently.
* Enthusiastic, dependable and with a clear attention to detail.
* Demonstrates appropriate use of relevant equipment after training
* Travel between Weybridge and Maidenhead sites may be required on occasion, so driving license is desirable but not essential.
