This role is ideal for a qualified accountant or experienced finance professional looking for their next senior challenge in a commercially driven SME environment.
What the Finance Manager job involves
* Full ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting, and reporting
* Prepare and analyse P&L, variances, and cash flow forecasts
* Oversee VAT returns, PAYE, bank reconciliations, and liaise with external accountants
* Evaluate investments, cost-saving opportunities, and supplier contracts
* Support long-term growth through insightful financial planning and analysis
* Supervise of a team member and support wider business operations
This is a hands-on role that demands strong financial control and the ability to work both strategically and operationally.
Skills required
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by experience with strong SME experience.
* Excellent understanding of cash flow, multi-revenue models, and seasonal income
* Proficiency in Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar accounting platforms
* Strong eye for detail with a proactive, adaptable mindset and the confidence to work independently and influence decision-making
