Job Description Role / Job Title: GE Smallworld Solution Architect Work Location: Dublin / Cork (preferred) We are seeking an experienced GE Smallworld Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of advanced GIS solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise, a strong understanding of solution design, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functional teams. You will play a key role in crafting integrated, future-ready solutions that empower our client's digital transformation journey. The Role A critical position within the team, this role is instrumental in defining the asset strategy for a leading utilities customer. You will serve as the architectural backbone of GIS initiatives, ensuring every layer of design, integration, and deployment aligns seamlessly with business goals and technical best practices. Your Responsibilities (Up to 10, avoiding repetition) Solution Design & Architecture Translate business requirements into comprehensive High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation. Collaborate closely with customer technical teams for design validation and final sign-off. Implementation & Integration Guide development teams throughout the build and implementation phases. Design and implement robust solutions, coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders. Develop responsive web applications using GSS, Java, and open-source technologies. Integrate GE Smallworld with external systems via REST APIs using GSS. Data Management Design and manage data update services for external integrations. Oversee data migration activities from legacy systems to Smallworld, ensuring accuracy and continuity. Documentation & Communication Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deliver client-facing presentations to document architecture and project outcomes. Your Profile Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience: Expertise in the GE Smallworld Product Suite and associated layered products. Strong knowledge of Smallworld 5.x architecture, Mobile Enterprise Suite, and Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS). Proficiency in GSS, JavaScript, and HTML5 for mobile and web development. Experience in integrating with enterprise systems such as IBM Maximo. Desirable Skills / Knowledge / Experience (as applicable): Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Customer-facing experience. Willingness to travel and ability to collaborate effectively with distributed and remote teams.
