Hays Recruitment is pleased to partner with two SEN primary schools in the Runcorn and Widnes areas, which are currently experiencing high sickness rates and require motivated and reliable teaching assistants for daily sickness cover, short-term assignments, and ad-hoc support.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant in these schools, you will have the flexibility to choose your own availability and working days. You will support pupils from EYFS to KS2 with SEN, including needs such as ASD, LD, non-verbal communication, visual and hearing impairments, Down syndrome, and other disabilities. Working under the guidance of the class teacher, you will help create a stimulating and engaging learning environment, taking a pupil-centered approach. Your responsibilities will include delivering intervention and booster sessions in core subjects, implementing positive behaviour strategies, and supporting SEN-specific activities such as speech and language interventions, sensory circuits, sensory play, and PECs.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you must have the legal right to work in the UK, along with at least 40 days of recent, referenceable classroom experience within the last two years, and:
* Experience supporting SEN students
* The ability to deliver intervention and booster sessions on a 1:1 and group basis
What you'll get in return
If successful, you will receive comprehensive support and guidance from a senior DfE-accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a range of benefits.
