Job Title: Accountant
Due to the continued expansion of the business, there is a requirement for an Accountant to join the finance team. This role will be responsible for helping prepare and maintain monthly management accounts, undertaking balance sheet reconciliations, driving the business's continuous improvement cycle, and assisting with Group reporting to head office on a monthly basis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
2. Check the accuracy of information generated by the financial system and correct discrepancies with the agreement of the financial controller.
3. Maintain accurate control account information.
4. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Undertake ad hoc financial and management tasks as instructed by the financial controller.
6. Contribute to internal financial reporting.
7. Manage the Purchase Ledger team.
8. Review weekly bank payments to suppliers.
9. Conduct cost and variation analysis.
10. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
11. Participate in reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities.
12. Assist with Group reporting and external audits.
13. Contribute to the development of systems, processes, and procedures within the business.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Fully qualified Accountant and member of a recognized accounting body.
* Audit background.
* Extensive IT skills and experience.
* Excellent presentation and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong knowledge of debits/credits, business systems, and processes.
Desirable:
* IT industry experience.
* Advanced knowledge or professional training in SAGE accounts.
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
* Understanding of IFRS.
* Experience managing a team.
