Position: Commercial Manager

Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 depending on experience
We are recruiting for an Engineering sector Commercial Coordinator / Manager to work within an established FM and Building Services team, providing contractual and commercial analysis and support within their operations. The role is permanent, based out of the North West, with potential travel to client sites. Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week.
Job Purpose:
To analyze and assess current and pending maintenance and Facilities Management contracts, reporting to the senior operations team. Supporting the operations team to ensure contractual and commercial viability, including tender/bid documentation support.
Commercial Manager Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Provide proactive business and commercial assessment and support to the Facilities Management Operations team regarding contractual and commercial obligations.
2. Support on commercial procedures, processes, and strategies for service and project activities within the division.
3. Plan, implement, and oversee risk management procedures through analysis and contract reviews in collaboration with finance and operational managers.
4. Review contracts and related documentation, liaising with clients to identify and mitigate risks, including review of tender documents, bonds, warranties, and guarantees per company policy.
5. Develop and monitor monthly benchmarking data and KPIs.
6. Establish relationships with finance and procurement teams.
7. Assess and interpret data from FM contracts related to JCT, NEC3, NEC4, etc.
8. Work directly with senior operational staff, reporting findings on contract analysis.
9. Assist with tender documentation and bid submissions.
Person Specification:
* Previous experience in Engineering, Facilities Management, or Building Services sectors.
* Experience in Commercial, Procurement, and Contract administration.
* Understanding of JCT, NEC3, NEC4, etc.
* High understanding of key financial drivers in FM operations.
* Experience preparing documentation and managing commercial aspects of maintenance and project contracts.
* Strong analysis and report-writing skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to contribute to long-term business and commercial strategy development.
* Skills to identify risks and engage stakeholders in solutions.
