We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Professional Construction to join our team and teach across both Further and Higher Education programmes (Levels 3–6). About the Role: As a Lecturer in Professional Construction, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality teaching across a range of construction-related subjects. You'll support and challenge learners to reach their full potential, while embedding emerging technologies and current industry practices into the curriculum. Your role will also involve contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of course content, and working collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners to ensure programmes remain current, relevant, and aligned with sector needs. Essential Requirements: Education to level 6 and/or a professional qualification in a relevant professional construction subject area Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4 or equivalent Relevant Teacher training or the wiliness to complete within 3 years of employment (3 years of the first available course) Evidence of continuous professional development Essential Experience: Industrial experience within the professional construction sector Experience of using CAD and/or other design software Experience of working with young people While holding a full teaching qualification is not a requirement for this role, at least some teaching experience or evidence of leading learning is essential. It will be expected that you complete a teaching qualification in post, for which you will be supported financially and with dedicated mentoring by Colchester Institute.
