Working Hours: 40 hours per week to include alternate weekends. The Salvation Army forms part of the Christian church and boasts an extensive social remit, providing a range of social and community services, including services for children and the elderly, debt advice, those trapped in modern-day slavery, homeless people, individuals struggling with addiction, and people seeking employment. Job Summary: Springfield House is a residential Lifehouse accommodating 16 homeless vulnerable families, with parents aged 16 - 25 years old, in self-contained flats with support on site 24 hours. Key Responsibilities: The role of the Family Specialist Support Worker with The Salvation Army (Internally known as a Specialist Support Worker) is critical to providing an enhanced level of service for our vulnerable clients. As a highly competent Family Specialist Support Worker you will be highly experienced in safeguarding. You will be a Designated Safeguarding Lead (or be prepared to qualify). You will be committed to plan and deliver a high-quality support service which promotes client choice, and ensures that clients learn new skills, make positive life choices and achieve the best possible outcome. As we are a 24/7 service you will be included on the On Call rota after training. There will also be line management responsibility. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: A sound knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. Experience of child protection and local procedure, along with managing interventions at times of greatest need, so that children and parents are assisted to fulfil their potential. Proactive and confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships with vulnerable service users whilst maintaining strict professional boundaries. Track record of engaging, developing, and delivering high quality support with young families and professionals working on Child in Need plans A sound knowledge of psychologically informed environment (PIE) A passion to see lives transformed, with a ‘can do’ attitude.
