WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
RWM UK is now starting a new production site in Telford.
Rheinmetall Weapons and Ammunition UK (RWM UK) is part of the defence engineering company Rheinmetall AG based in Germany. We design, manufacture and support military large-calibre weapon systems used by the British Army and international customers.
The individual in this role will report directly to the Production Manager and be responsible for production planning team and the tool management/administration. As Team Leader you will ensure the ramp-up of the production by providing the tools and CNC-Programs
The individual will be responsible for:
* Responsible for CNC-Programs and Tools and Data Management for the production of large-calibre weapon systems
* Manage all aspects of people management, including day to day responsibility of teams' performance management and development to include attendance, sickness, overtime approvals, training (where appropriate), PDP's (Personal Development Plans), and behavioural and conduct related issues.
* Adaptation of CNC programmes and, if necessary, creation of new ones
* Setting up systems (e.g. Top Solid and Exapt) and maintenance of master data informations
* Definition and procurement of required tools, clamping, auxiliary and measuring equipment
* Hiring and Development of a team of employees in the above-mentioned area
* Support the Production Manager in achieving production KPI's (e.g. Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People) targets and actively participate with continuous improvement activities (e.g. production efficiency, OEE, operating cost reduction, safety, PPS & 5S).
* Supporting the ramp-up of the new production facility for large-calibre weapon systems
* Supporting the production and acceptance of new machines and systems
* Allocate work to the Team and communicate issues, progress and achievements.
* Escalate issues and disruption to the Production Manager in a timely manner.
* Encourage the Team to submit improvement ideas to increase engagement and efficiency.
* Provide inputs to the wider production team (e.g. Manufacturing Engineers, Production Planning, Logistics or Quality) as required.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
Essential:
* Completed studies in mechanical engineering or equivalent
* Alternatively, completed vocational training in machining or metal technology (e.g. CNC-Operator, Toolmaker, Industrial Mechanic) with a broad experience
* Significant leadership experience in the manufacturing processes of turning, milling in shift operation
* Significant experience in CNC programming and Tool-data-management (e.g. TopSolid, Teamcenter, Exapt)
* Be able to read and interpret technical drawings to understand specifications, tolerances and required materials to carry out the task.
* Good Communication skills & the ability to lead a high performing team through training, mentoring and the transfer of knowledge.
* Motivated and disciplined with an excellent work ethic, technical aptitude, continuous improvement mind-set and can demonstrate good attention to detail.
* Demonstrate high levels of SHE behaviours to teams through positive promotion of safety awareness, risk management and compliance
Desired:
* Experience in manufacturing processes of deep drilling, eroding, laser hardening.
* Experience in working in the production of for large-calibre weapon systems or military goods.
* Experience in ramp-up of new production processes.
* Experience working with SAP.
* Experience in the field of maintenance.
* Experienced SHE behaviours to teams through positive promotion of safety awareness, risk management and compliance
