PURCHASING ASSISTANT – PRODUCT AND PRICING

Chelford Farm Supplies, a well-established family-owned business in the heart of Cheshire, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our fast-paced procurement department. With over 40 years of experience, we are known as one of Cheshire's premier suppliers of Equestrian Clothing & Footwear, Farm Supplies & Feed, Garden & Forest Machinery, Shooting Equipment, Clothing & Ammunition.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
* Master Data Management: Update and maintain critical data within our ERP system (SAP B1).
* Supplier Price Lists: Manage and organise supplier price lists effectively.
* Price Change Coordination: Compile price change information for approval by your line manager.
* Supplier Communication: Liaise with suppliers to ensure accurate and up-to-date product information.
* Pricing Reviews: Conduct regular pricing reviews and prepare necessary sign-off documents.
* Invoice Resolution: Investigate and resolve invoice queries as needed.
* Margin Calculation: Calculate product margins and ensure pricing accuracy within our system.
* Ad-Hoc Reporting: Generate ad-hoc reports to support decision-making.
Essential Requirements:
* Product Knowledge: Familiarity with Agricultural/Farming products is mandatory. ·
* Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical abilities to understand and calculate product margins and mark-ups.
* IT Proficiency: Good IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Commercial Awareness: Ability to comprehend products and exhibit commercial awareness.
* Procurement Experience: Background experience in procurement processes.
* Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy.
* Positive Attitude: A positive, can-do attitude and a proactive approach to query resolution.
* Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers and team members.
* Organisation: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Desirable Requirements:
* ERP Knowledge: Knowledge of SAP B1 or other Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
