Job Summary
As a Managed Service Engineer at Alliance Tech, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting a diverse range of client environments. Your role will include resolving technical issues, managing MSP toolsets, implementing solutions, and ensuring the highest level of service delivery to our clients. You will work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the design and support of IT infrastructures, including Windows environments, networking, firewalls, cloud services, security solutions, and more.
Responsibilities
* Provide MSP Support: Deliver expert-level support for clients, ensuring smooth operation of their IT infrastructure.
* PSA/Ticketing Management: Manage tickets in the PSA system, track incidents, prioritize issues, and ensure timely resolution.
* Windows Desktop and Server Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows desktops and servers, including patch management and performance monitoring.
* Networking: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) to ensure reliable connectivity and secure client networks.
* Firewall and Router Configuration: Manage and maintain client firewall and router configurations for optimal security and performance.
* Microsoft Intune: Deploy and manage devices using Microsoft Intune, ensuring compliance and security policies are applied effectively.
* Microsoft Entra: Administer and support Microsoft Entra for management and access control solutions.
* Email Security Management: Implement and maintain email security protocols to protect against phishing, spam, and malware threats.
* RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management): Utilize RMM tools to monitor, maintain, and remotely resolve client issues.
* Documentation: Ensure clients’ environments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are well documented.
* Compliance: Ensure IT solutions meet compliance requirements and industry standards.
* Backup and Disaster Recovery: Manage Datto backup, disaster recovery (BCDR) systems, ensuring clients’ data is securely backed up and easily recoverable in case of disasters.
* Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and work to remediate identified issues.
* EDR/MDR (Endpoint/Managed Detection and Response): Implement and monitor EDR/MDR solutions to detect, prevent, and respond to endpoint threats.
* HyperV/VMware: Manage virtualization environments using Hyper-V and VMware for optimal server resource utilization and uptime.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment or similar experience.
* Strong understanding of PSA/Ticketing systems (e.g., ConnectWise, Autotask).
* In-depth knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems.
* Experience with networking technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
* Hands-on experience with firewall and router configurations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Intune, M365, and Entra administration.
* Familiarity with email security platforms (e.g., Proofpoint, Mimecast).
* Experience with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools.
* Knowledge of Datto BCDR solutions or equivalent backup/disaster recovery systems.
* Understanding of vulnerability management and remediation processes.
* Expertise in EDR/MDR technologies (experience with Sophos a bonus).
* Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V and VMware) helpful.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
* Basic understanding of cybersecurity practices and endpoint protection tools.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Qualifications
* Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., A+, M365, Azure) or relevant work experience
* Three or more years on MSP experience
* Bachelors in Information Technology or similar experience, Cyber Security a bonus
