We have an exciting opportunity at our Yaxleystore for a Duty Manager (Subway at SPAR) to work in our fresh food operation, As a member of the ‘Duty Manager’ team, effective through all operational hours of the store, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of colleagues. You will be a member of the Store Manager’s leadership team ensuring excellent customer service, contributing to achieving store sales and profitability through ‘Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food For Later, Food For Now’.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities:
1. Preparing of all sandwich ingredients, to include cooking breakfast and lunch items, baking of cookies/bread and washing, cutting, slicing, chopping and grating of ingredients, in accordance with established guidelines.
2. Supporting the Store Manager to ensure a safe, legal and high performing store, whilst taking overall responsibility for the Subway brand and regulations in-store
3. Assisting the SPAR Store Manager to deliver all store operations, objectives and KPI’s
4. Managing, coaching and supporting colleagues, assisting in developing a motivated and empowered team through a positive, engaging management style
5. Carrying out performance management/absence management as appropriate
6. Responsible for opening/closing of the department, colleague safety and stock/cash security/accountability as appropriate during shifts
7. Carrying out cash reconciliations, voids and refunds and other ‘management’ tasks for till colleagues
8. Being a role model and leading the team to work together to provide an exceptional customer experience, setting us apart from our competitors
9. Working with colleagues to promote the store by identifying and actioning opportunities to engage with and support the local community
10. Adhering to all company policies and procedures and processes
Skills / Abilities / Knowledge / Experience
11. Previous experience of working for Subway preferred
12. Previous management or supervisor experience within a food retail or similar fast-paced operation
13. Committed to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards in our Yaxley SPAR store
14. Able to plan, organise and prioritise effectively
15. Ability to communicate and influence at all levels
16. Able to take appropriate action and make decisions
17. Committed to promoting collaborative working
18. Enthusiastic and flexible with a positive attitude
19. Committed to developing own skills and apply learning to improve own performance
