SEN Teaching Assistant – Darlington

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be the steady, reliable presence that helps students feel safe and understood. Expect hands-on support with pupils who have:
1. SEMH needs
2. ADHD
3. Autism
4. Challenging behaviours
5. Barriers to learning that need patience, structure, and a warm approach
No two days look the same in these settings, but one thing is constant, your impact matters.
What we’re looking for
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re:
6. Confident and calm when things get busy
7. Punctual and dependable so students get the consistency they need
8. Experienced in SEN settings or PRUs
9. Skilled at building trust with pupils who need a little extra guidance and reassurance
10. Ready to support both 1:1 and small group work as needed
Requirements
11. Experience in SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behaviour support
12. A DBS on the Update Service, or you're happy to apply for one through us
13. A positive, patient attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
