3 Month Contract With A Local Authority


Job Purpose

To provide high-quality legal advice and support on a wide range of property-related matters, ensuring that transactions and legal services are delivered efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational requirements. The role will support the organisation's property interests through the management of complex legal cases, transactions, and negotiations.





Key Responsibilities

* Provide expert legal advice on a broad range of property law matters, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences, easements, and other property transactions.
* Draft, review, negotiate, and complete legal documentation relating to commercial and residential property matters.
* Manage a varied caseload independently, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and within required timescales.
* Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and recommend appropriate courses of action.
* Conduct legal research and provide clear, practical advice on property law issues and developments.
* Represent the organisation in negotiations with external parties, legal representatives, developers, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and professional standards.
* Attend meetings and provide legal support to project teams, management, and other departments as required.
* Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports, correspondence, and legal documentation.
* Support the achievement of organisational objectives through the provision of proactive and solution-focused legal services.




Requirements

* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with a current practising certificate (where applicable).
* Significant experience in property law, including handling a broad range of property transactions and legal matters.
* Strong knowledge of commercial and/or residential property law and relevant legislation.
* Ability to manage a complex caseload independently and prioritise competing demands.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in legal case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience working within local government or the public sector.
* Knowledge of local authority property transactions and governance requirements.
* Experience advising on regeneration, development, or housing-related projects.




Additional Information

* Location: Remote Working
* Hours: 37 hours per week across five days
* Payment: Bi-weekly payments
