We are looking for a qualified Level 2 Nursery Assistant to join our team.
Location: Little Dragons, Bath Road, Reading
Salary: £24,465 per year
About us: Little Dragons Day Nursery is located within Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We are committed to creating a positive and supportive environment for our children and are seeking a Level 2 Nursery Assistant to join us on a full-time basis.
About you: Your wellbeing is our top priority. We offer full support in obtaining your Level 3 qualification with no course fees to worry about.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 6:00pm, closed on Bank Holidays and during the Christmas and New Year period. Rotas cover 37.5 hours per week (typically 7.5 hours per day).
Your role
You will support the team in caring for and engaging a group of children, providing daily care and activities, while assisting with developmental reviews. We care for children aged 6 months through to their transition to reception. You will maintain high standards of care, create learning opportunities in a safe, stimulating environment, and support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Main duties
* Provide high-quality care and stimulation addressing physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs in a non-discriminatory manner.
* Work in partnership with parents and encourage their involvement in the nursery’s aims and their child’s care.
* Maintain records as necessary and appropriate, in line with the EYFS Statutory Framework.
* Attend training to keep practices modern and forward-looking and support personal career development.
* Assist in the daily domestic management of the nursery; ensure the nursery is safe, secure and clean at all times.
Essential qualifications and criteria
* NVQ Level 2 in childcare or equivalent qualification as listed on the Education.gov.uk qualification finder.
* Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* Knowledge of safeguarding of children and child protection.
