Job Summary

Responsible for managing SUBU's Student Voice and Insight department. This includes the Student Rep systems operation and supporting the development of further Student Voice mechanisms to ensure SUBU has robust insights on the student experience at Bournemouth University. To do this, the role works closely with the Student Voice Co-Ordinator as well as the SUBU Insight Analyst and engages with other departments and stakeholders. This role works closely with our Full-Time Officers to support them ahead of their university meetings, by briefing them on key aspects and providing them with evidence gained through our Student Voice mechanisms and insights from Higher Education sector developments. This role also supports the development and implementation of SUBU's student-led policies, which involves working directly with students and other SUBU staff to ensure policies are representative of students' needs. The role supports SUBU's vision, goals and strategic aims by ensuring they are reflected in the Student Voice department's short, medium and long-term planning

Duties

* Administration Duties: email & diary management. Communication Duties: between stakeholders, SUBU staff and Officers, University staff, and other external contacts. Organisational Duties: organising meetings, prompting staff and students for input into various matters. Data Duties: maintaining, tracking and managing various records and information systems, including the Student Rep feedback tool. Project Duties: leading, supporting or contributing to a variety of projects, activities or initiatives as directed by students and Full-Time Officers. Managing feedback campaigns, including Speak Week and SUBU's 'You're Brilliant' Awards scheme. Analytical Duties: monitoring incoming student feedback and Student Rep usage of the feedback tool, ensuring the results of student representation are recorded and tracked and the impact is promoted to the student body. Key Union Events Duties: when asked to assist with the organisation and administration of the larger Union events such as Freshers' Fair, Summer Ball, Student Awards, Elections. Financial Duties: effective budget management for the Student Voice department Compliance Duties: accountability for supporting the creation and implementation of operational plans and departmental objectives. Representation/ facilitation Duties: to represent SUBU at BU committees, meetings, events, such as open days and information fairs, Advice and Guidance Duties: establishing a dynamic and encouraging rapport with Student Representatives. Overseeing appropriate systems for the smooth running of the Student Rep system. Line Management Duties: To line manage one full time staff member (Student Voice Co-ordinator). There is also a dotted management line to the SUBU Insight Analyst. Training Duties: organising, delivering and developing training for Student Reps as appropriate. Reviewing & Evaluation Duties: reviewing and evaluating the department's work to measure effectiveness and impact on the student experience, participating in SUBU strategic planning and development sessions. Engagement duties: developing new ideas and activities to increase Student Reps engagement, participation and diversity of Student Reps. Networking Duties: maintain strong relationships and partnerships with the University, local community organisations, the National Union of Students and other relevant stakeholders

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 10 months

Pay: £26,500.00-£31,000.00 per year
