TeacherActive is supporting a well-established FE college in Northampton with the recruitment of an Engineering Lecturer. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled industry professional or qualified lecturer to contribute to the delivery of high-quality vocational education.
You will be responsible for delivering engineering programmes across Level 2 and Level 3, ensuring that both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory are delivered to a high standard. You will also contribute to assessment, tracking learner progress, and supporting students in achieving their qualifications and progression goals.
The successful candidate will play a key role in equipping learners with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in further study or employment within the engineering industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver BTEC and/or City & Guilds engineering programmes
* Plan and prepare engaging lesson materials and practical activities
* Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
* Monitor and track learner progress against targets
* Support learners both academically and pastorally
* Maintain high standards within workshops and teaching environments
Requirements:
* A Level 3 qualification or above in Engineering
* A teaching qualification is desirable or willingness to work towards one
* Relevant industry experience within mechanical or electrical engineering
* Ability to deliver both practical and theoretical content effectively
* Strong organisational and communication skills
