We have an exciting opportunity in the Specialist Medicine Planned Care Division at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. We are looking to recruit a Medical Secretary to join the team, providing full secretarial support to consultants and other members of the team.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Act independently to prioritize and complete daily tasks and ongoing workloads within agreed timeframes.
2. Serve as the first point of contact on behalf of the consultant and the Trust, handling enquiries from GPs, parents/carers, other departments, and external bodies courteously and effectively.
3. Produce correspondence and reports using audio transcription/digital transcription technology.
4. Type urgent clinical letters from audiotape or direct dictation, including those of a distressing or emotional nature.
5. Utilize IT systems to check patient information and manage appointments.
6. Update clinics and communicate changes using Book Wise, ensuring all relevant parties are informed.
7. Maintain awareness of the referral to treatment (RTT) pathway to respond appropriately to parent/carer calls and enquiries.
