Responsibilities
* Utilise knowledge, experience, investigation and analysis skills, to provide health and safety advice to Trust Managers;
* Ensure that the risk framework is embedded into each division to ensure all risk management requirements are achieved;
* Develop and promote health and safety awareness and responsibilities to all areas, managers and staff groups throughout the Trust;
* Develop and deliver health and safety and risk management training packages to all trust staff groups; reviewing the training needs of the Trust;
* Ensure safe working practices of contractors working on Trust premises;
* Interpret UK and European legislation and other health and safety guidance in order to develop robust and effective policies, systems and processes in relation to risk management and health & Safety procedures;
* Manage DATIX Web system and where required investigate accidents/incidents; ensuring reporting under RIDDOR where necessary;
* Prepare reports on health and safety issues following staff concerns, incidents, trend analysis reports and external regulatory body requirements;
* Act as project lead to progress and resolve health and safety issues and concerns.
A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint a Health and Safety professional, for an initial 3 month contract with specific experience in undertaking ligature points risk assessments and writing linked management plans. Experience of advising on Health and Safety issues in large healthcare organisations;
Qualifications
* NEBOSH National General Certificate;
* Detailed understanding of health and safety legislation within the NHS
