Core Skill Set Requirements
* Proven experience designing, building, and operating secure, automated cloud platform capabilities.
* Strong grounding in Azure with readiness to cross‑train and operate within GCP environments.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
* Proficiency with Terraform (minimum requirement).
* Experience with Jenkins and modern CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Harness, and Jenkins.
API Management
* Deep understanding of GCP API Management (Apigee) infrastructure and API Gateway solutions.
* Familiarity with API design and security (REST/OpenAPI), authentication/authorisation patterns (OAuth, mTLS), and certificate lifecycle management.
Networking & Security
* Experience with GCP Networking and GCP Cloud Armor.
* Ability to embed secure‑by‑design controls across the platform lifecycle.
Containers & Orchestration
* Hands‑on experience with GCP Kubernetes Service (GKE), containers, and service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio).
Automation & Observability
* Experience implementing actionable observability, SLO/SLI frameworks, and performance tuning.
* Focus on automation and reducing operational toil.
Scripting & Tooling
* Strong scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
* Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, Harness, and Backstage (desirable).
* Ability to mentor engineers, contribute to communities of practice, and uphold platform engineering standards.
Certifications
* Relevant GCP certifications are highly desirable.
SRE – Additional Role‑Specific Competencies
* Relevant certifications for GCP‑based services.
* Strong DevOps background with experience in IaC and CI/CD pipelines (Terraform, Jenkins).
* Ability to quickly understand, update, and write code in Python, Groovy, Bash, and PowerShell.
* Deep understanding of cloud security, networking, and APIs.
* Strong troubleshooting, logical thinking, and problem‑solving ability.
* Hands‑on experience with observability tooling, including Observability‑as‑Code and SLO‑based Dynatrace monitoring.
* Strong knowledge of source control practices (Git) and collaborative engineering workflows.
* Experience developing and administering Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
* Strong background in automation to eliminate toil.
* Solid understanding of incident management and issue resolution.

Scope of Services
As part of the Integration GCP Infrastructure Engineering team, the responsibilities include:
Design, Build, and Operate
* Deliver and maintain secure, automated GCP API Management platform capabilities.
* Support API Gateway and broader integration platform products.
Platform Enablement
* Enable product teams to deliver API‑first services using reusable patterns and integration tooling.
Infrastructure Automation
* Develop and maintain Terraform-based IaC solutions for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
* Ensure consistency, repeatability, and organisational compliance.
Security & Compliance
* Embed security controls and best practices across design, deployment, and runtime.
Performance & Reliability
* Define, monitor, and operate against SLOs/SLIs to ensure high availability and resilience.
* Drive automation, optimise observability, and reduce manual effort through tooling improvements.
* Work closely with architecture, engineering, and feature teams to evolve the cloud roadmap.
* Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and platform enablement.
* Mentor team members and uphold engineering and operational standards.
* Foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
SRE – Additional Responsibilities
* Hands‑on engineering to maintain IaC and CI/CD pipeline‑based products and services.
