As an Electrical Drives Service Engineer, you will oversee installation, commissioning & maintenance in projects with low to medium complexity, and guide Associate Engineers and coordinating work with entry-level staff. You will ensure that all activities are completed efficiently and cost-effectively, in accordance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements. In this role you will assist and coordinate maintenance activities with the Electrical Delivery Manager, as well as implementing design changes and marking up project documentation. Your responsibilities Engineer, Install, Commission and Maintain electrical drives equipment as installed in onshore/offshore client assets including, but not limited to ACS 1000, ACS 6000, ACS 800, ACS880 and ESP applications. Effectively diagnose and rectify faults on electrical equipment including communication link between equipment and to any local control system Develop work packs, testing procedures and method statements according to ABB and customer safety and quality standards Liaise with customer on site to generate work permits, isolation and testing procedures and attend and present in required on site meetings as necessary to support effective completion of the work scope Assist in tender preparation Analyse customer RFQ and communicate with customer to develop a scope of work Provide out of office on call support as part of the wider service team Your background Knowledge of ABB and/or 3rd party VSD - hardware & control system Operational knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical systems Familiar with safety and isolation procedures for low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems/equipment Knowledge and experience of communication protocols e.g. Modbus Knowledge and experience of interfacing of inverter units to the control system Offshore commissioning/ maintenance experience Experience in producing and reviewing electrical drawings Competent in writing maintenance and commissioning routines for electrical equipment Knowledge of AVR & excitation systems such as Unitrol 1000/ 6000/ Mega Drive - desirable Familiar with safety and isolation procedures for electrical systems/equipment - desirable Protection Relay Testing & Configuration - desirable More about us We look forward to receiving your application (documents submitted in English are appreciated).
