Job Description
New Malden Vets for Pets has recently undergone an exciting refurb and expansion of our practice and are thrilled to announce we have a fantastic opportunity for an Experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the growing team.
About us:
You’ll be joining and working alongside a supportive, stable team of 6 vets, 5 RVNs, 3 VCAs, a dedicated reception team, a practice administrator and our practice manager. Although a lot of our team have been with us between 6 – 10 years, our practice owner, who qualified 25 years ago, has grown the practice significantly since taking over in 2012 meaning we are always growing our family and welcoming new faces into the team!
As part of our new expansion, we now have a total of 6 consult rooms, 2 operating theatres, a dental suite including dental X-ray, dedicated imaging room with digital X-ray, ultrasound and rigid endoscope as well as a dedicated pharmacy. At New Malden, as well as cats, dogs and rabbits we also see a variety of exotic cases. One of our vets is studying for a certificate in exotic animal medicine and two of the RVNs are also studying for additional qualifications in exotic species. Because of this we now also have separate dog, cat and exotic wards as well as separate waiting areas! We have also added on a separate isolation ward.
About you:
This is an incredibly exciting time for our practice and so we are seeking someone who is enthusiastic and energetic to help move us into our new chapter. We’re looking for someone who is motivated, with a positive attitude who will help with the daily running of the practice to ensure a high standard care for Patients and Clients.
We encourage all our colleagues to be their best and achieve their careers goals. Nurses are the heart of our practice and perform an integral clinical role in caring for our patients. You’ll have great communication and organisation skills and take pride in working to a high standard. You’ll have an interest in and want to learn about, the practice as a business. The key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the Veterinary Nurse role, delivering excellent patient and client care.
About the role:
This is a Full-Time position working 40 hours per week with just 1 in 4 weekends and no OOH, ensuring an excellent work/life balance! The role will encompass diverse first opinion nurse duties, from anaesthetic monitoring to inpatient care, nurse consults, radiography and ultrasonography, ordering, and assisting with procedures. There's also an opportunity to get involved in schedule 3 procedures.
Benefits:
* Competitive salary of up to £35,000 based on experience
* Generous CPD opportunities, including funded certificates.
* Social events and a focus on wellbeing.
* Contributory pension schemes.
* Paid memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS).
* Exclusive company discounts and rewards - including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room and the Vet Group.
We can offer a friendly, inclusive work environment, and are happy to support individuals’ areas of special interest. You will be joining a bubbly, hard-working team who provide outstanding pet healthcare and fantastic, caring customer service.
If you're ready for an enriching career, we would love to hear from you! For more information or a confidential conversation, please email Ryan at WestVets@vets4pets.com or apply via our career’s website.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
