Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Rhinology and Anterior Skullbase. The post holder will be expected to work at Kingston Hospital and St Georges Hospital. The ENT clinic at Kingston Hospital is one of very few in the country equipped with the latest ultrasound machines, and the successful applicant will have the ability to learn and perform ultrasound as part of an enhanced clinical assessment or diagnostic intervention. Cone Beam CT scanning is also available onsite.
Main Duties
* Provide advice and treatment, help develop the service in accordance with Trust policy.
* Teach, train and supervise postgraduates and trainees as appropriate.
* Demonstrate professional excellence and efficient delivery of care in accordance with the clinical case load associated with the post.
Responsibilities
* Undertake outpatient clinics and surgical lists at Kingston Hospital, St Georges Hospital and other community clinics as required.
* Review inpatients at Kingston Hospital and St Georges Hospital.
* Support the delivery of the rhinology pathway against best practice standards and peer review assessments.
* Work with the Head of Service and service‑line managers to ensure provision of high quality, effective care meeting operational standards.
* Support educational and training, medical/clinical audit, clinical risk management, clinical governance and management activities of the service‑line.
Person Specification
* Essential Qualifications: MRCS, Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practice (or eligibility), FRCS or equivalent, CCT in Specialty and on GMC's Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT from interview date or confirmed eligibility for Specialist Registration.
* Desirable Qualifications: Appropriate higher degree (e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent).
* Essential Experience: Post SpR clinical fellowship experience in Rhinology, experience in complex rhinology surgery, evidence of continuing medical education (for existing consultants active participation in CPD).
