Overview
An opportunity has become available to join the Belford Hospital reception team on a bank basis covering annual and sick leave.
Responsibilities
* Operation of a Digital Telephone Switchboard providing first line communication to the general public presenting a polite and helpful manner.
* Welcome visitors to the hospital and assist with enquiries promptly and politely, with a focus on maintaining confidentiality.
* Carry out laid down procedures covering call out of on call personnel, alarm activations and emergency calls and must demonstrate the ability to deal with these in a calm, composed, manner.
* Frank outgoing post and process incoming post.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants will ideally have a good knowledge of telephone operating services and demonstrate a basic understanding of computer technology with experience of using e‑mail and Microsoft office suite. The successful candidate should demonstrate a good standard level of education, be able to work as part of a small team & as a lone worker.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Additional Information for Candidates
* Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted on a pro‑rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
