Job Description
Applications close 5pm 11th July
Introduction
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in redefining the state-educated experience in the UK? The 93% Club, the UK’s largest network for state-educated students and professionals, seeks an exceptional Employer Success Intern to join our dynamic team. As we strive to make everyone #StateSchoolProud, we need a proactive operator to collaborate closely with Head of Strategic Partnerships, Joe Mackley, to take the charity to the next level. This is a full time, fixed-term, seasonal role designed to provide support from August-December, our busiest time of the year as we ramp up employer engagement, campaign delivery and our flagship event ‘The Social Mobility Factory’.
About The 93% Club
With over 50 student clubs nationwide, a thriving professionals’ network, and an incredible roster of top graduate employer partners, The 93% Club has become the largest network for state-educated students and professionals to connect, upskill and pay it forward.
The 93% Club is a movement; we’re just starting!
The 93% Club is not like most charities. We’re a social enterprise with a charitable structure, bringing together the functions of a student social network, a careers service, a recruitment agency, and a thriving professional members’ Club into one high-touch, high-impact organisation. 100% of our profits are reinvested into our mission, with our only shareholder being our charitable entity.
How do we deliver our impact?
State School Clubs
Through our career opportunities and events, we take all the benefits of private school education and provide them to students who went to state schools for free – whether that be soft skills training, access to influential mentors, CV reviews, mock interviews, or a network of state school students across the whole country. We realise that getting a top job is just one piece of the puzzle that helps our students thrive - the biggest is belonging. Our student clubs act as a home for state-educated students on campus and help our members beat those feelings of isolation and alienation through social activities that make our members feel right at home.
With the support of our Clubs nationwide, these opportunities are delivered far and wide. We are grassroots by nature and incredibly proud of our student leaders, who are the backbone of our organisation.
93% Professionals
93% Professionals is the UK’s least exclusive members’ club. For too long, career progression and opportunities have been distributed based on informal sponsorship relationships, which too often benefit those who come into their careers with existing connections to the city. We’re changing that.
Through 93% Professionals, we’ve mobilised state-educated professionals and allies across the UK. Through our online platform and events, we take the members’ club model that has worked for a few and make it work for everyone. Our members come together to help each other and pay it forward to the next generation – just like the old boys do.
Our approach is innovative - with 50% of the proceeds from each professional membership being paid forward to cover the cost of one of our student members, and the remaining 50% of the membership cost is reinvested in the professional network.
We’ve taken the Members’ Club model and made it work for the masses: reinventing a centuries-old system for the 93% of us who attended state schools.
93% Careers
The 93% Club is full of raw talent; we’re here to unlock it. Working alongside employers of all sizes across the UK, we show our members who they can be. Our one-of-a-kind events and partnerships tackle imposter syndrome, a lack of industry awareness, and a lack of contacts head-on, making opportunities open to everyone. By helping employers to find the best state-educated talent, we create a UK where the most influential roles look more like the society they represent.
93% flagship careers events
In 2022, we launched our flagship event - The Social Mobility Factory - as a creative new way to bring opportunities to state-educated students. Our vision was simple. Student attendees could walk into The Social Mobility Factory without a LinkedIn headshot, any experience of mock interviews, a polished CV, knowledge of industries, or influential connections, and they could leave with it all - at zero cost to them. Last year, we saw 600 attendees, including 400 students from 58 universities!
We encourage you to read more about the work we do and the impact we have in our 2024 impact report.
