Grwp Llandrillo Menai was established in 2012 as a result of mergers between Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor. It employs 2,000 staff and delivers courses to around 21,000 students, including over 1,500 higher education students, across Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd.

Job Purpose - The Child care department offers a range of qualifications namely child care, children and young people, teaching assistant and also in playwork. This role involves being responsible for the recruitment, retention and completion of a standardised caseload of learners that have chosen to enrol on a Childcare/ or children and young people's qualification. The Assessor is responsible for delivery of training, assessment and quality assurance of learners work. The assessor will be overseeing learners knowledge and practical competence in the workplace setting. The assessor will be expected to recruit, support and encourage marketing activities in line with the Programme area, and engage with employer engagement events for a variety of qualifications in Childcare, Teaching Assistants, children and young people and Playwork and support fellow assessors. The assessor must support and monitor learners progress and timely completions, and attend Programme Area and standardisation meetings. On a daily basis the role involves meeting with learners and employers within different workplace settings, predominantly remotely but with some travel expected, working independently ensuring compliance with qualification requirements. The assessor requires the skills to plan visits in a logical manner with due regard to restricting travelling, in order to make the best use of time as well as providing resources and support to meet the individual needs of each and every learner in the language of their choice.
Salary -£28,729.56 - £31,176.06 per annum
Location - to be agreed with the successful applicant -Bangor/St-Asaph/Dolgellau/Homeworking
Contract Type - Permanent, Full time (37 hours per week)
Pension Provider - Local Government Pension Scheme
Annual Leave - 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years continuous service (01 September to 31 August). ? All normally observed public holidays, determined annually. ? Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually.
